Peer-to-Peer Networks

Posted by,samer samir
We will discuss that, God willing, in this lesson the following items: 1 - the basic characteristics of peer-to-peer networks. 2 - the advantages and disadvantages of peer-to-peer networks. 3 - We offer the most Microsoft operating systems compatible with this type of networks. We start the lesson with the help of God:
Computer networks can be divided into two main sections modern:1 - Peer-to-Peer Networks.2 - Server Client Networks.Start talking about the peer-to-peer networks:Intended to peer-to-peer networks that computers in the network can each perform the functions of the customer and supplier at the same time, and therefore every device on the network can provide other information and at the same time request the information from other devices connected to the network. If the definition of peer-to-peer networks: is a local computer network LAN consists of a range of devices have equal rights and does not contain a custom SQL Server, but each device in the network as possible be equipped with or a client. This type of network is also called Workgroup.Working Group can be understood as a set of devices that cooperate with each other to accomplish a particular job. They usually consist of a small number of devices does not exceed ten. Working group members can see the data and resources stored on any of the devices connected to the network and benefit from themThe peer-to-peer networks suitable for the needs of small networks and whose members perform similar tasks, and we see this kind of networks in the offices of computer training, for example. This is the kind of networking appropriate only in the following cases:1 - The number of devices in the network does not exceed ten.2 - The Alleged users of this network are located in the same place year in which there is such a network.3 - It should not be a security network of the things that are critical to you.4 - It should not be the intention of the organization that you want to create this network plans for the development of the network and developed in the near future. This before thinking about choosing a specific type of networks must take into consideration the following things:1 - The size of the institution and the presumed number of users of the network.2 - the level of security that you want to be supplied to the network.3 - the nature of the work of the Foundation.4 - level administrative support that you want to get it.5 - the presumed needs of network users.6 - the budget allocated for the network.Let's take a look at the advantages of peer-to-peer networks:1 - of the main advantages of peer-to-peer networks is that the cost is limited.2 - These networks do not need additional software on the operating system.3 - devices do not need to be strong, because management tasks distributed network resources and network devices are not entrusted to a particular device.4 - install the network and set up is quite easy, all you need is a simple networking system of wires connected to the network cards in each device Kpiotr the network devices. The main drawback of this type of network is that it is not suitable for large networks of it because with the growth of the network and increase the number of users receive the following problems:1 - become decentralized network management reason to waste time and effort and lose efficiency.2 - becomes maintaining the security of the network is very difficult.3 - with the increase in the number of devices it becomes to find the data and take advantage of network resources is troublesome for all network users. As we mentioned earlier, the management of the network are of two types: centralized and distributed. In the case of the central administration, the network will be managed by a central network operating system.Network operating system: is a program that manages and controls the activities of users and devices on the network. In the case of management of distributed, each user is responsible for the management of his machine and select the data and resources that wants to share with others and determine whether these resources are available for read-only or read and write together, and a program that allows them to do so is a system of local operating on the their devices. As is evident, the peer-to-peer networks belong to networks of distributed management. For operating systems released by Microsoft and supports peer-to-peer networks are:1-Windows for Workgroup 3.112-Windows 953 - Windows 984 - Windows Me5 - Windows NT 4.0 Workstation6 - Windows NT 4.0 Server7 - Windows 2000 Professional8 - Windows 2000 ServerAnd systems are NT and Windows 2000 is better than the rest of the system because of the tools provided by the network management and a high level of safety provided by the network., And we will look to its advantages in networking later in this series, God willing, but it is possible to draw attention to Windows NT 4.0 and what came after has the following feature-regarding peer-to-peer networks:1 - allows each user to benefit from the resources of an unlimited number of devices connected to the network.2 - allows for no more than ten users to take advantage of the resources of a particular device at the same time.
4 - provides features for protection and security systems are not available in Win 9x.Summary of today's lesson:Peer-to-peer networks is a local computer networks, all devices can play the role of provider or the customer at the same time and have equal rights. The most important feature of these networks is the limited cost and ease of installation. The main disadvantages is that they can not adapt to a large number of devices and users.
